Rio de Janeiro has growth in new business 4Q|2021

High volume of new business brings a positive outlook for a resumption in 2022.

February 16, 2022

The Rio de Janeiro corporate market once again showed growth in the number of new businesses in the fourth quarter of 2021. According to the First Look report, the accumulated volume in the year was 134 thousand m², with the regions of Centro, Barra da Tijuca and Orla concentrating 92% of the total.

Despite the optimism that the data brings for a recovery in 2022, the average asking price remains stable. In the fourth quarter, there was an increase of 1.3% compared to the last period, but a decrease of 7.7% compared to 4Q2020. The index update is justified by the current market situation, which has been recovering in the last two quarters, with positive net absorption in this period.
